Images and Site Records from an Archaeological Trial Trenching at Rushmoor School, Shakespeare Road, Bedford, April 2024

This collection comprises images and site records from archaeological trial trenching at Rushmoor School, 71 Shakespeare Road, Bedford. Albion Archaeology was commissioned to carry out the trial trench investigation required by the mitigation strategy. Work was undertaken on 2nd April 2024. Two 1.8m-wide trenches with a total length of 30m were excavated. The trenches revealed modern building foundations and a 19th century land-drain. The features identified by the evaluation are of little archaeological significance.
