Genetic expression of stage IV oral squamous cell carcinoma according to the recurrence

To characterize differential gene expression patterns and their actual expression in tissues for recurrent and non-recurrent tumors to identify independent prognostic markers for oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). cDNA microarray analysis was performed to identify differentially expressed genes in both primary tumors and regional normal lymph nodes from patients with and without recurrence. Four patients for each recurrent/non-recurrent group were included. All of them were diagnosed with stage IV oral squamous cell carcinoma and the study group was allocated according to the presence of recurrence after successful surgical resection.
