Cognitive performance of pigs under contrasting developmental and environmental conditions

Two datasets describing the effect on cognitive performance of developmental experience (early life socialisation with an alien litter pre-weaning - yes/no) and environmental conditions (standard commercial level of enrichment versus enhanced enrichment with additional space, straw bedding and manipulable objects). Cognitive performance was assessed based on:Learning speed in a test in which pigs were required to choose a left or right side of an arena to obtain a food reward and avoid a mild punishment (a fan blowing air).Reversal learning of the above task whereby the rewarded location was reversed from its previous position.
