BIOCHEMICAL MONITORING AND MANAGEMENT OF MINERAL METABOLISM DISORDERS IN CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE PATIENTS ON HEMODIALYSIS
收藏资源简介:
This study investigates the correlational relationships among five key biochemical parameters — serum phosphorus, calcium, vitamin D, parathyroid hormone (PTH), and fibroblast growth factor-23 (FGF-23) — in 30 patients at the initiation of hemodialysis therapy. Using Pearson correlation analysis, statistically significant interdependencies were identified among all five parameters (p < 0.001). A near-perfect positive correlation between phosphorus and FGF-23 (r = 0.994), a strong negative correlation between phosphorus and vitamin D (r = −0.856), and a strong positive correlation between calcium and vitamin D (r = 0.955) were observed. These findings demonstrate profound disruption of the phosphorus–calcium–vitamin D–PTH–FGF-23 axis at dialysis initiation and highlight the need for comprehensive biochemical monitoring in chronic kidney disease management [1–5].
