资源简介:
LTER - Long-Term Ecological Research Program/H.J. Andrews Forest (AND)
LTER/AND009 [Summary adapted from the LTER Core Data Set Catalog]:
Woody debris larger than 10 cm in diameter and 1 m in length was
tagged in the stream channel and floodplain for a 1.1-km reach (350 m
in clearcut; 750 m in old-growth forest) of Mack Creek. Mack Creek is
a third-order stream in a 500-year-old conifer forest. Each piece is
numbered, and the following characteristics are described:
longitudinal position, geomorphic location, log dimensions, decay
class, origin, moss cover, root wad, and channel angle. The reach is
reinventoried annually in October. New debris is tagged and described
each year.
The Andrews Forest is in the western Cascade Range of Oregon in the
15,800-acre drainage basin of the Lookout Creek, a tributary of Blue
River and the McKenzie River. The area elevation ranges from 1350
feet to 5340 feet and contains excellent examples of Pacific Northwest
conifer forests, wildlife, and ecosystems.
