1. Provide raw data for subsequent period redivision, adjustment of period duration and current green split ratio (defined as the ratio of green time available for vehicle passage within a complete signal cycle to the total cycle length):
1) For working Tuesdays to Thursdays: Partition periods by segments based on the ratio of the two-day prior traffic flow data of each direction to the designed saturated flow value of the intersection;
2) For working Mondays, Fridays to Sundays: Partition periods by segments based on the ratio of each direction's Monday traffic volume data from the preceding two weeks to the designed saturated flow value of the intersection;
2. Calculate lane time occupancy based on the traffic flow of each time period, and further estimate lane space occupancy and headway;
3. Provide intersection traffic flow, lane occupancy and other data required for traffic management department decision-making.

### Data Sources
1. Traffic flow (total number of vehicles detected by traffic flow detection loops): Directional traffic data such as left-turn, straight-ahead and right-turn can be collected via software background monitoring, while incoming direction traffic flow needs to be estimated through calculation;
2. Saturated flow: the maximum number of vehicles that can pass through the intersection within 10 minutes, which is a fixed value confirmed by previous calculations;
3. Incoming and outgoing traffic indexes need to be calculated via corresponding formulas.

### Data Processing and Application
The formula for incoming traffic flow (a1) is: a1 = left-turn traffic flow (a3) + straight-ahead traffic flow (a4) + right-turn traffic flow (a5);
Outgoing traffic flow is denoted as (a2);
Incoming traffic index = a1 / 1476 * X; Outgoing traffic index = a2 / 776 * X, where the value range of X is 1 to 3.
By analyzing the incoming and outgoing traffic indexes, reference basis can be provided for optimizing traffic signal timing, improving traffic efficiency and promoting sustainable development.
