Effect of different Bacteroides strains on cytokine production by RAW264.7 macrophages.

Purified lipopolysaccharide (1 mg/ml) (LPS) from S. enterica serotype Typhimurium was used as a positive control. Non-stimulated cells were also evaluated as controls of basal cytokine levels (DEMEN). Results are expressed as mean (SD) of duplicate measures determined in three independent experiments. Significant differences were established at P0.05 by applying ANOVA and post hoc Tukey’ test. Means in the same columns with different letters were significantly different in relation to non-stimulated cells (a-b) or to LPS (a’-b’) or to B. uniformis CECT 7771 (a’’-b’’).
