资源简介:
Project Description Previous research by our team i.e. Owens et al. (2018), has explored the impact of drowsiness/fatigue on driving risk via PERCLOS (percentage of eye closure) data reduction and analysis using SHRP 2 naturalistic driving study data. This project is a follow-up of the previous project by thoroughly investigating the prevalence and impact of drowsiness/fatigue on driving risk using about 715 level 1-3 crashes and 4,000 baselines with PERCLOS coded, as well as existing health and sleep survey data. This project intends to study the prevalence of PERCLOS among baseline samples, the relationship between PERCLOS and drivers' health and sleep conditions, and their combined influence on driving risk. The analysis modeling outcomes will be reported. Overall, the study is expected to generate tremendous insight into drowsiness/fatigue as it relates to transportation safety. The data being examined were collection as a part of a SHRP2 cognitive distraction project (IRB#14-1115). As part of the consent process for that study, participants consented to future use of the data by qualified researchers. Data Request Scope We requested Event, Trip, and Driver level data available on the SHRP 2 Insight website. This data could help us understand the risk of fatigue and factors associated with fatigue. The data from the old study is in the attached data dictionary file. Data Specifications Sleep Habit Questionnaire Medical Conditions Medications (both pre and post participation questionnaires) Trip Summary Table Driver Demographics Questionnaire Driving History Questionnaire Perception of Risk Survey of Risky Behaviors Vehicle Event Detail Table
