These samples of C. chrysonotus and C. virginalis from Lakes Malawi and Malombe were collected in 2003 by Anseeuw et al. The sequencing data will be compared to already sequenced samples collected in 2017 from the same sampling locations. Thereby, we will be able to infer migration rates between the two locations during that time span and recent local cross-species gene flow. We will also evaluate the power to detect allele frequency changes between the two time points consistent with recent local adaptation to increasing fishing pressure in Lake Malombe.
