In this study, the microbiota in 5 intestinal segments, jejunal, ileal, cecal, colonic and rectal, for each 91 Enshi black pigs were performed 16S rRNA-seq at 260-days age by Ion Torrent S5. The results provide a comprehensive understanding of the contribution of the gut microbiota in separate gut segments to pig growth and fat-deposition traits and suggest that target traits may be changed by manipulating gut microbes.
