A test of the Stress Gradient Hypothesis in soil microbiomes

Soils were collected from biological soil crusts and >9 cm below the surface from three habitats across a stress gradient at Archbold Biological Station (GPS points). Fungal and prokaryotic communities were surveyed by amplicon sequencing of the ITS1 and 16S_V4 regions, respectively. Samples were sequenced on an Illumina MiSeq platform (v3, 300bp paired-end sequencing) at the University of Minnesota Genomics Center. This data was used for the analyses in the associated article of this BioProject where scripts and metadata are also provided for preparing data to be processed through the QIIME2 pipeline.
