资源简介:
Dataset from a field experiment in a subtropical forest biodiversity experiment, where we disentangle the relative importance of microhabitat conditions (deadwood position and moisture), macrohabitat context (forest diversity and structure), and biotic interactions with a dominant antagonist (ants) for cavity-nesting bees, wasps, and their parasitoids. Our key contribution is to demonstrate that moisture gradients in nesting substrates act as the primary ecological driver shaping cavity-nesting Hymenoptera host and parasitoid communities, overriding broader forest-scale variables. In contrast, and contrary to expectations, ant exclusion had negligible effects. Our results thus provide a novel mechanistic explanation for community assembly processes of bees and wasps in deadwood. R code for data analysis is available stored in Github and available at: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.19493070
