This dataset compiles plant species richness data from multiple grassland vegetation surveys conducted across Switzerland on varying plot areas (1–100 m²). It includes species richness on varying plot areas, plot-level environmental metadata and mean ecological indicator values. The data were assembled to evaluate how differences in plot areas affect estimates of species richness and mean ecological indicator values. The README file further describes each uploaded file.
