VPRS 19095 Committee / Board of Management, Minutes and Agenda Papers

This series comprises the minutes and related agenda papers of the Committee of Management, later the Board of Management of the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) (VA 1048). The Committee of Management officially changed its name to the Board of Management on 1 July 1972. The Board of Management is the prime decision-making and policy body of the Royal Melbourne Hospital and is responsible for the overall management of the hospital. From 1 August 1995 until 30 June 2000 the RMH was governed by the North Western Health Care Network (VA 5262). For Board minutes from this period see VPRS 18941. From 1 July 2000 the RMH came under control of Melbourne Health (VA 1048). Minutes following this date can be found in this series. The agenda papers in this series are from the periods of 1906 – 1925, 1990 -1995 and 2000-2019. The location of the agenda papers from prior 1906, and from 1926 – 1989 is unknown. This series also includes minutes of the committee tasked with the building, procurement and staffing of the hospital prior to its opening in March 1848.
