Identification of high biofilm and low biofilm EMS mutants in Staphylococcus lugdunensis.

Staphylococcus lugdunensis was treated with the mutagen, ethyl methanesulfonate, to create random point mutations throughout the genome. Individual cells with different mutations were sorted and analyzed for a reduction or enhancement of biofilm formation. Mutants exhibiting altered biofilm formation from the parent strain, were sent for sequencing to identify mutations that impact biofilm development in S. lugdunensis.
