Images from a Watching Brief at 21 The Green, Piercebridge, County Durham, April 2024

This collection consists of a series of site photographs from a watching brief conducted by Pre-Construct Archaeology (PCA) in April 2024 at 21 The Green, Piercebridge, County Durham, prior to construction works. The principal archaeological interest of the development site is because of its location within the south-eastern portion of the interior of the Roman fort at Piercebridge (possibly Morbium). Works identified phases of activity relating to the levelling of the fort, Roman structural features, and later robbing activity.
