Synergistic therapy of antioxidants and gene supplementation for the treatment of retinitis pigmentosa

This study aims to develop a synergistic therapeutic strategy for retinitis pigmentosa (RP) that combines two complementary approaches: antioxidant therapy to mitigate oxidative stress-induced photoreceptor damage, and adeno-associated virus (AAV)-mediated gene supplementation to correct the underlying genetic defect.
