Elevational patterns of fungi on Mt. Norikura, Central Japan

This study seeks to explain the underlying factors determining the community composition, richness, distribution and elevational range of fungi on a mountain. The soils were collected along an elevational transect and were analyzed using paired-end Illumina Miseq sequencing of the fungal ITS region.
