资源简介:

This dataset contains the antiSMASH (v8.0.4) genome mining results of two seed endophytic Bacillus subtilis strains, BsR7 and BsR8, isolated from wheat (Triticum aestivum) cultivar S-615, were collected from the IBGE, GAU, Gazipur, Bangladesh (24.0360° N, 90.3963° E), having been kindly provided by Prof. Yukio Tosa (Kobe University, Japan). These strains were characterized to explore their biosynthetic potential and potential roles in promoting plant growth and biocontrol. Genome assemblies and associated sequencing data are publicly available under the following accession numbers: Feature BsR7 BsR8 GenBank JBTONQ000000000 JBTONR000000000 Assembly GCA_054552535.1 GCA_054552515.1 BioSample SAMN54560992 SAMN54560993 SRA SRR37417567 SRR37417566 Genome mining using antiSMASH v8.0.4 identified a diverse repertoire of biosynthetic gene clusters (BGCs) in both strains. Detected clusters include non-ribosomal peptide synthetases (NRPS), ribosomally synthesized and post-translationally modified peptides (RiPPs), terpenes, saccharides, and hybrid BGCs. High-confidence clusters corresponding to well-characterized bioactive compounds were identified, including surfactin, fengycin, bacillibactin, bacilysin, subtilosin A, and a subtilin-like lanthipeptide. These metabolites are commonly associated with antimicrobial activity, siderophore production, and ecological competitiveness in the rhizosphere. In addition, several genomic regions exhibited low similarity to known clusters, particularly those related to bacillomycin D-like biosynthetic pathways, indicating the potential presence of novel secondary metabolites. Overall, the BGC profiles of strains BsR7 and BsR8 highlight their metabolic versatility and reinforce their potential as plant-associated beneficial microbes with applications in sustainable agriculture and biocontrol.
