Long-Term Building Running Cost Panel Dataset for Singapore Real Estate Investment Trusts, 2002–2021

This dataset supports the study “Benchmarking Long-Term Building Running Costs: A Panel Regression Model Integrating Opex and Capex.” It contains an unbalanced longitudinal panel of 183 entity-year observations representing 19 analytical Singapore Real Estate Investment Trust (S-REIT) entities over 2002–2021. Long-term building running cost (LTBRC) is operationalized as the combined annual burden of realized operating expenditure (Opex) and realized capital expenditure/asset enhancement initiative expenditure (Capex/AEI), normalized by gross floor area. The dataset also contains organizational, strategic, asset, external, and time-related variables used in the panel regression analysis. The data were constructed principally from S-REIT annual reports together with relevant external economic, climatic, and market sources. A README and data dictionary accompany the dataset.
