Calculation based on the technically feasible hydropower potential reported in the 2021 Hydropower & Dams World Atlas and the most recent values of hydropower generation or installed hydropower capacity, also reported by the 2021 Hydropower & Dams World Atlas. Where the technically feasible capability was not reported, other references were consulted including publications from the World Energy Council (https://www.worldenergy.org). Technically feasible capability is the amount of the gross theoretical capability that can be exploited within the limits of current technology.
