Alternative splicing (AS) can lead to distinct protein isoforms. These can have specific properties that affect how they function in different cells and tissues, or in different developmental stages. In this study, we explore whether transcripts assembled from long read, nanopore-based, direct RNA-sequencing (RNA-seq) can improve the identification of proteoforms in human K562 cells.
