VPRS 15275 Contract Register, Country Roads Board

Section 455, Part XVI of the Local Government Act 1915 allowed municipal councils to enter into contracts for the purposes of executing works directed or authorised by the Act. The same piece of legislation stipulated the need for such contracts to be in writing. This series comprises a volume called Contract Register, Country Roads Board. It was created to document contract particulars.(Contract Registers were designated for permanent retention in PROS 98/01 Local Government Records General Disposal Authority Version 2002 (Class 10.1.4). The record in this series pre-dates the disposal authority).The volume includes the following information:- Contract number- Description of contract- Name and address of contractor- Financial details.
