Carnobacterium divergens strain:LV13 Genome sequencing

Carnobacterium divergens LV13, originally isolated from meat, is known to produce the bacteriocin divergicin A and is commonly used as an indicator organism for bacteriocin assays. Recently, it shown that this strain can be infected by bacteriophage cd2, which also targets several other strains of C. divergens. For the purposes of this study, we sequenced the genome of LV13 and performed a phylogenetic analysis on a series of phage-sensitive and phage-resistant C. divergens isolates.
