The Aviation Safety Reporting System (ASRS) database is the world's largest voluntary and confidential safety information repository, contributed by frontline aviation personnel including pilots, air traffic controllers, mechanics, flight attendants, and dispatchers. This database contains de-identified narrative reports and information coded by expert analysts, serving as a rich resource for policy formulation, human factors research, education and training, and other relevant fields. The mission of ASRS is to disseminate this information to appropriate authorities that can conduct investigations and determine whether corrective actions are necessary.
