Coregonus palaea Transcriptome or Gene expression

We raised in vitro fertilized whitefish embryos (Coregonus palaea) in individual wells and incubated them with a highly virulent strain of the opportunistic fish pathogen, Pseudomonas fluorescens. We utilized high-throughput RNA-sequencing in order to describe the genes involved in an early immune response for the first time in a non-model fish embryo. The pseudomonad increased embryonic mortality, delayed hatching, and affected gene expression substantially.
