The objective of the study was to identify the miRNAs expressed in TLR ligand treated vis-a-vis control PBMC samples. The sRNA libraries were multiplexed in Ion Torrent PI chip to sequence in Ion Proton™ System. The reads were aligned against taurine genome (UMD3.1 assembly) due to unavailability of bubaline reference genome. We could identify 160 bovine miRNAs in buffalo PBMCs and 130 putatively novel miRNAs (not enlisted in the bovine mirBase).
