From leaves to roots: coordination and decoupling in plant biogeochemical niches along an elevational gradient

Our study expands the biogeochemical niche hypothesis from single-organ analyses to an integrated leaf-root system, revealing multi-organ niche synergy in a vertically zoned forest ecosystem and refining the theoretical framework of niche interactions.
