In this project, the primary objective is the investigation of the genomic diversity of Neisseria spp. circulating among key populations in Bangladesh. The selected key populations include Male sex workers (MSW), Female sex workers (FSW), and the Hijra population. Specimens were collected in 2014 and between 2022-2024. The isolation of Neisseria spp. was conducted on modified Thayer Martin Agar, and biochemical identification was carried out using the Vitek-2 systems. Whole genome sequencing was conducted at the icddr,b genomic facility. This investigation will enable an understanding of the genomic diversity of Neisseria spp. in key populations. The data gathered will aid in comprehending the transmission dynamics and the emergence of antibiotic resistance over time.
