Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS): Salaries, Tenure, and Fringe Benefits of Full-Time Instructional Faculty, 1990/1991

<p>This survey of Salaries of Full-Time Instructional Faculty is the third to be conducted under the new Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS). This survey was mailed to 3,604 postsecondary education institutions in the U.S. and its outlying areas that a) are accredited at the college level by an agency recognized by the Secretary of Education; or b) grant a bachelor's, master's, doctoral, or first professional degree. The survey collects data that include the salary, the number of full-time instructional faculty, salary outlays, and the number of tenured faculty, by contract length (9-or 12 month), sex, and academic rank. It also collects fringe benefits, expenditures, and number of faculty covered, by length of contract and type of benefit.</p>
