National environmental monitoring: Satellite-based wetland monitoring, change maps

During the period 2007-2017, "Satellite-based monitoring of wetlands" was carried out throughout Sweden within the framework of the national environmental monitoring. The satellite-based monitoring is designed to detect land use-related changes in open marshes in the form of increased biomass/regrowth. For the change analysis for a period of time, two sets of satellite data are used, one from an earlier point in time and one from a later point in time. In northern Sweden the period 1990-2000 was analyzed and in southern Sweden the period 1999-2009 was analyzed.
