DHCR24 promotes ovarian cancer via TGF pathway

This experiment aimed to explore the role of DHCR24 in ovarian cancer. Ovarian cancer is a highly heterogeneous diseases with poor prognosis, high metastatic potential, frequent recurrence, and low survival rate. Databases, clinical data, and analyses demonstrated that it is upregulated in ovarian cancer and correlates with poor outcomes. Experiments confirmed that DHCR24 promotes malignant biological behavior and EMT in cells. Further experiments demonstrated that DHCR24 promotes ovarian cancer cell malignant behavior via the transforming growth factor beta pathway. In conclusion, DHCR24 contributes to ovarian cancer progression by upregulating the transforming growth factor beta pathway, highlighting its potential as a therapeutic target for ovarian cancer.
