Amplicon sequencing allows the simultanous assessment of an abundant applied taxon and the community. Here we assessed potential biases of the presence of a highly abundant sequence on the reliable analyses of community structures. As model we used soil DNA extract spiked with different concentrations of a plasmid containing the ITS2 sequence of the biocontrol strain Metarhizium brunneum ART2825.
