资源简介:
The objective of this study was to determine the mechanisms mediating metabolic benefits of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA, an omega 3 long chain fatty acid) in high fat fed mice. Accordingly, we conducted gene expression profiling (transcriptomic analyses) in adipose tissue depots from mice fed high fat diets or high fat diets enriched with EPA. Specifically, we performed RNA sequencing of brown, subcutaneous (inguinal) and visceral (epididymal) adipose tissue samples from C56BL/6J mice after 11 weeks of feeding the following diets: One group of mice was fed high fat (45% kcal fat) to induce obesity; and the other group was fed high fat diets supplemented with EPA (also total energy at 45% kcal fat of which 6.7% kcal (36g//kg diet) was from EPA) to test whether EPA prevented high fat diet-induced obesity.
