Data from the Stress And Memory contextualization (SAM) study

<h2> Stress And Memory contextualization (SAM) study </h2>

<i>SAM_CodeBook.csv</i> contains variable explanations for all data files (except .sav file, which includes explanations in .sav file). An empty informed consent form of the SAM-study is provided in <i>SAM_empty_informed_consent_form.pdf</i>.

<h3> Experimental Procedures </h3>

Participants were randomly assigned to three experimental conditions (see <i>SAM_Experimental_Conditions.csv</i>):
delayed-stress (group 1), immediate-stress (group 2), no-stress (group 3). Psychosocial stress was induced via the Trier Social Stress Test (TSST).

<i>SAM_Timepoints_reactivity_measures.csv</i> provides an overview of the measurement time points in the SAM study.

<i>SAM_Actual_Time_TSST.csv</i> shows the actual timepoints of the TSST tests.

<h3> Memory Contextualization </h3>
A dataset with performance data from 100 healthy male subjects on the Memory Contextualization Task, scored according to the signal detection theory (<i>SAM_MCT.csv</i>).

<h3> Fear Generalization</h3>
A dataset with performance data from 120 healthy male subjects on the Fear Generalization Task (<i>SAM_FGT.csv</i>). Amperage during the fear conditioning phase of the FGT (<i>SAM_FGT._Amperage.csv</i>).

<h3> Endocrine Measures </h3>
Salivary cortisol and alpha-amylase levels after the Trier Social Stress Test (TSST) and placebo-TSST in healthy males. <i>SAM_Actual_Time_Saliva_samples.csv</i> includes the actual time points at which saliva samples were collected.

A dataset with salivary cortisol (sCortisol) and alpha-amylase (sAA) levels (collected between noon and 7 pm), from 120 healthy male participants after the Trier Social Stress Test (TSST) and placebo-TSST. sCortisol (<i>SAM_sCortisol.csv</i>) and sAA (<i>SAM_sAA.csv</i>) levels are provided in separate .csv files.

<h3> Self-report Questionnaires </h3>
A dataset with demographics and self-report responses to the items of the questionnaires in the SAM-study. The data (<i>SAM Questionnaire Masterfile.csv</i>) and codebook (<i>SAM Questionnaire Masterfile_codebook.csv</i>) are provided in separate .csv files.
