Inhibition of <i>P. berghei</i> growth in mice infected with blood parasites that were then treated orally with atorvastatin, itraconazole, posaconazole or and chloroquine for three consecutive days in two independent experiments.

ND = not done. *Reduction of parasitemia at day five of the experiment in relation to untreated controls (n = 4 to 6 mice per group). **In the second experiment, posaconazole was diluted from a commercial oral suspension (Noxafil®). Only the chloroquine-treated mice survived to day 30 post-inoculation; all the other mice died, despite the suppression of parasitemia in relation to the control mice.
