The Rufous-fronted Thornbird (Phacellodomus rufifrons) is a widespread South American bird in the family Furnariidae. It is found in disjunct patches of dry forest habitat across the continent. This project used ddRADseq to study the phylogeography and population genetics of this species. This allows us to test the "Pleistocene Arc Hypothesis," that currently disjunct patches of dry forest were connected in the recent past during Pleistocene glacial periods.
