Conversion device technologies are expected to address many of the challenges related to the clean energy transition. However, additional research is required to reach the full potential of these technologies, namely electrolyzers, fuel cells, and gas storage. This field of research is currently very active, with many experiments being conducted by various research groups using X-ray synchrotron-based characterizations. These characterizations provide crucial information on the structure and composition of materials that is not accessible using any laboratory equipment. Developing high-throughput, in-line hardware with automatic analysis is crucial to overcoming challenges such as improving system efficiency, optimizing the manufacturing process, and increasing durability. To this end, characterizing ex situ samples is the first step to validating the sample measurement configuration before creating the hardware and developing the automatic data analysis pipeline.
