Improvement of social skills in children with autism spectrum disorder through the use of a video game.

The main objective of the research was to improve social skills through the use of a video game. The type of research was applied to an experimental design of pure experimental degree, 60 children with autism spectrum disorder from the Christa McAuliffe school were randomly sampled, 30 were assigned to the control group and 30 to the experimental group, the latter used a video game developed in the Unity 3D environment; information was collected through a test; then the data collected was analyzed and processed using the Jamovi statistical software. The results obtained were an increase of 1.39 points on average in the level of communication skills, an increase of 1.12 points on average in the level of skills related to feelings, an increase of 2.72 points on average in the level of skills alternative to violence and an increase of 1.02 points on average in the level of proamic skills. It was concluded that, the use of a video game significantly improved social skills.
