资源简介:
This digital archive contains images from a historic building recording of Lichfield Lodge, Lodge Lane, Yoxall, Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, DER13 8PJ. The work was undertaken In November 2022, by Archaeological Research Services Ltd. The historic building recording was undertaken to Historic England's Level 1 Standard, and was conducted in support of a planning application for a housing development on the site of Lichfield Lodge (Application Ref. No. P/2022/00649). Lichfield Lodge comprises a two-storey cross-gabled building, constructed with brick in a Flemish Garden Wall bond, which originated as 'L' plan in formation. A building had been depicted within the general position of Lichfield Lodge within Smith's 1801 Map of Staffordshire, though Lodge Lane is not shown. The presence of the Gothic revival style door may be suggestive of a late 18th to early 19th century date, with this style less popular within the later stages of the 19th century. This suggests that the building shown on this mapping could be Lichfield Lodge. The first map to clearly depict the building is the 1883 Ordnance Survey Map, with Lodge Lane present by this date. Minimal historic features survive for the structure, with a modern extension added in the early 21st century, and extensive internal and external alterations taken place.
