Ssk-FB4s in DGRP population

DNA transposons can mediate the generation of gene duplication in animals. We did a reseach about such elements named as Pack-TIR in DGRP population. We detected one polymorphic Pack-TIR Ssk-FB4 mediated by FB4 based on PacBio and Illumina sequencing data. It has four copies at different loci in certain fruit fly lines. We also used PCR and Sanger sequencing to varified the four copies. The related transposon FB4 was assembled by PacBio data. The expression pattern and the transcripts were analyzed using RNA-seq data.
