Child Sexual Exploitation Material Offender Technical Behaviours and Public and Offender Perceptions

The attached files contain the data descriptions and the content from a research project into the cognitions and technical behaviours of previously convicted child sexual exploitation material (CSEM) offenders. The data was collected using two separate, online surveys – one of the general public (“Reference”) (n=524) and one of previously convicted CSEM offenders (“Offender”) (n=78) – that were available between May and July of 2020. Both populations were adults living in the United States, and surveys queried their perceptions of child pornography and CSEM offenders, their use of technology, their interaction with adult pornography, and, for the offender group, the specific behaviours related to their viewing and collecting of CSEM.# Access #Data held in the Edinburgh DataVault, accessible only to authorised University of Edinburgh users.
