South West Agricultural Community Engagement

South West Agricultural Community Engagement is dedicated to increasing community awareness and understanding of South West natural resources in the Sustainable Agriculture Stream. It will undertake a collaborative and holistic approach to community engagement via three strategic approaches.
Strategic engagement with land managers and landcare groups to increase their knowledge and skills to manage our natural resources and deliver ecosystem services, while exploring barriers to adoption to behaviour change initiatives.
Engagement of Aboriginal people in NRM will build on *Aboriginal engagement and capacity building outcomes facilitated over previous CfoC investment and contribute towards “closing the gap” through the development of Aboriginal NRM enterprise opportunities for economic participation.
Finally, community engagement across the whole region will provide a return on investment in current work in capacity building, behaviour change and more broadly, fostering an appreciation and ownership of issues facing our South West agricultural sector and natural environment.
