Database of paired recordings in hippocampal slices

Simulating the function of brain networks requires a detailed characterization of neuronal interactions. Using paired recordings in hippocampal slices, the basic properties of synaptic transmission and short-term synaptic plasticity between identified cells were characterized, employing morphological and electrophysiological classification, as well as transgenic animals expressing cell-type-specific fluorescent markers to target specific connections.
