资源简介:
Campylobacter is on of the most common causes of acute gastroenteritis worldwide. In approximately 20% of cases, bacterial entercolitis can lead to the development of post-infectious irritable bowel syndrome (PI-IBS), where severity of Campylobacter infection is linked to PI-IBS development. Here, Campylobacter isolates were screened for from a cohort of patients who developed Campylobacter PI-IBS and those who did not. A genome-wide association study (GWAS) coupled to clinically relevant phenotypes tested in vitro was done to identify genes and genetic elements associated with pathogenicity and prediction for PI-IBS development.
