Zeno's Long Nights

Novello Finotti, an Italian sculptor, gained international recognition soon after his first New York exhibition in 1964. He has since worked on many important public works and commissions. He looks at the idea of metmorphosis in many literary form and shapes and in this piece he condenses the realistic figures of nighttime anxiety in a dreamy and courageous composition. Two bare feet twist and mingle with pillows, in turn looking like a precarious elastic balance of a slender and flexible column.
