The effect of MOF on DSS-induced ulcerative colitis model in mice and its mechanism

Ulcerative colitis is a chronic non-specific intestinal inflammatory disease. It not only reduces the quality of life of patients and increases the risk of colon cancer, but also brings huge economic losses and psychological pressure to patients. Ulcerative colitis has the characteristics of long course, easy recurrence and complex etiology. At present, there is no effective treatment in clinic. In recent years, MOF-based materials have attracted more and more attention due to their customizable combination of metal nodes and organic ligands. In particular, MOF-based nanomaterials are promising candidates for biomedicine because they have several unique characteristics : high specific surface area and high loading capacity porosity ; stable but degradable structure for on-demand degradation ; and good dispersion and biocompatibility to ensure the biosafety of medical applications. Based on this, this study aims to clarify the role and mechanism of MOF818 in the treatment of ulcerative colitis.
