This data repository contains the data and materials used in Iwai et al., "Dependence of Neutralized Charge Amount on Meteorological Conditions in Summertime Lightning Discharges in Japan" (submitted to Journal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres). # Datasets
This repository includes the following datasets:

EFM_data.tar : the amount of neutralized charge estimated from ground-based electric field measurements
File name : EFM_mmdd.csv
Data format : CSV
Note : The first column represents time in seconds since 00:00 (JST) on the date indicated by 'mmdd' in the file name. The second column represents the amount of neutralized charge (C).

scale_data_2d.tar.gz : numerical simulation outputs generated using the Scalable Computing for Advanced Library and Environment (SCALE) model (two dimensional variables)
File names : scale_yyyymmdd+36h_2d.nc.tar.bz2, scale_yyyymmdd+48h_2d.nc .tar.bz2
Data format : NetCDF
Note : Due to limitations on the maximum uploadable file size, only data covering a 6-hour period starting 10 hours after the beginning of the simulation are provided in this repository. 

scale_data_3d : numerical simulation outputs generated using the Scalable Computing for Advanced Library and Environment (SCALE) model (three dimensional variables)
File names : scale_yyyymmdd+36h_3d.nc.tar.bz2, scale_yyyymmdd+48h_3d.nc.tar.bz2  
Data format : NetCDF
Note : Due to limitations on the maximum uploadable file size, only data covering a 6-hour period starting 10 hours after the beginning of the simulation are provided in this repository.
