Lithospermum erythrorhizon Genome and Transcriptome sequencing and assembly. Lithospermum erythrorhizon

Lithospermum erythrorhizon is a member of the Boraginaceae that produces the allelopathic specialized metabolite, shikonin, in its roots. The goal of this project is to generate a genome assembly of L. erythrorhizon and measure global gene expression under multiple experimental conditions to better understand shikonin biosynthesis and specialized metabolism more generally in this species.
