Ciona single cell heart sequencing (adult animal)

Ciona robusta is a chordate with a well known and stereotypical embryonic development. The development of Ciona's heart is well understood throughout embryonic growth. The diversity of cell types present in the adult Ciona heart are not well defined, especially cells involved in the conduction system and regeneration of the heart. To better uncover new cell types, and better characterize and understand the transcriptional signatures of well known cell types (myocardial, pericardial), we performed 10X single cell sequencing analysis on an individual adult ciona heart.
